After a career as a senior mainframe programmer at General Motors' Fleetwood Division in Detroit, S.J. Patel founds Advance Computer Services. He becomes one of the first to bring IBM Mainframe (1401) and AS/400 technology from the U.S. to India — pioneering global information technology before "global IT" was a phrase.

Advance Computer Services grows past 200 employees to become a major force in Indian technology, first as a data processing consultancy, then as the mainframe maintenance provider trusted by India's top 50 companies. Patel keeps the company on the cutting edge, upgrading from the IBM 1401 to newer mainframes throughout the era.
1992
Driven to give his employees the same opportunity he once had to live and work in the United States. Patel incorporates ACS International Resources in Newark, Delaware, delivering cost-effective staff augmentation and IT consulting to U.S. businesses of every size. Many of those first employees would go on to become CIOs, CEOs, and Senior VPs.
1996
Milan Patel - S.J.'s son and a Drexel University graduate joins full-time as CEO. Father and son share one conviction: build a company that delivers real results, grounded in personal and professional integrity. Under that philosophy, ACS lands and delivers on several major contracts and becomes one of the nation's fastest-growing privately held companies.

ACS launches software services operations in India, broadening its capabilities and building out a true global delivery model.
2005
Managed services operations open in India, giving ACS the muscle to deliver 24/7 support and hands-on infrastructure management.
2012
ACS doubles down on IT infrastructure and support for Charter Schools, establishing a strong presence in the education sector.
2016
ACS launches Inspiroz, a division built exclusively for the education sector, co-founded with charter school veteran Lars Beck formerly Founder and CEO of Scholar Academies, a charter school management organization serving over 2,500 students across 7 schools. The mission is singular: help schools and kids succeed.

Today, Inspiroz supports approximately 250+ schools across the country, keeping 10,000+ educators and over 125,000 students learning on systems the team manages every day — backed by the strength of ACS International Resources, a five-time Inc. 500 honoree and Inc. 500 Hall of Fame member operating in more than 30 states.

Inspiroz caps a landmark year with dual national honors: a place on the CRN MSP 500 and, on June 25, a coveted spot on the MSP 501, the industry's most respected ranking of MSP excellence, rewarding financial strength, recurring revenue, and operational efficiency. Fitting recognition for a company born in a Detroit mainframe room five decades ago, and still setting the pace.

Milan Patel has led ACS International Resources since 1996 and is an Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” finalist, current member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and a graduate of executive programs at both Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business (MBEP) and MIT’s “Birthing of Giants” - placing him among a select group of entrepreneurs recognized for leadership, growth, and impact.
A Drexel University graduate in Business and Engineering, Milan began his career at Amtrak, progressing through its Management Associate Program into roles spanning Program Management, Market Research, Forecasting, and Engineering. He brings that same cross-functional discipline to his leadership today.
Milan also serves on the Advisory Board of NFTE Philadelphia, supporting entrepreneurship education for young people across the region. He is a long-time resident of Chester County, Pennsylvania, with strong ties to the greater Southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware communities.
